After a visit to the abbey on day one, on day two, it was a case of scrambling across the rocks at Saltwick Bay at low tide, during the ‘blue hour’, to capture the wreckage of the Admiral Von Tromp …. in 45mph winds!
Combating the Blues
I had just two full days staying in Whitby and the weather was bright and sunny. Sadly, too bright and sunny for my liking, as my objective was photographing the landscape and the sky became very boring on the second day. But when it’s your only chance, you learn to work with what you have and make the most of the opportunities that present themselves, especially with the tides times as they were.
