TUITION & TALKS
I’m passionate about photography – and when you have a passion for something, you want to share it. I like others to get the same pleasure that I have as a photographer, using a creative medium that enables us to express ourselves and that has never been more accessible. That’s why I also help to run a photography club in East Yorkshire.
How many times have you been away on holiday or just out and about with your camera, enjoying ‘capturing the moment’, only to be disappointed with your pictures when you’ve arrived home and downloaded them? I enjoy teaching and helping others learn about photography and want to pass on what I’ve learnt over the years, so that everyone can improve their technique. You don’t need to be any particular standard – just have an open mind, a little motivation – oh … and a camera.
I offer friendly, one-to-one tuition to help you get to grips with your camera and improve your photography either in the comfort of your own home or by going out on location in East Yorkshire or a mixture of both.
It’s an intensive, full-day’s tuition (£195) with the emphasis very much on enjoying your photography and getting the most out of your camera.
Depending on time and your needs, there’s also scope for covering some image manipulation using Photoshop and Lightroom afterwards. And all clients receive an A3 size print of their choice from the day.
I’ve also given a number of talks over the years, especially to Photography Clubs. I charge a nominal fee of £40 (90 mins) for a Zoom talk. Current topics are: ‘Around the World in 80 Images’, ‘From the Mountains to the Sea – The Abruzzo Region’ and ‘Getting Started in Macro Photography’.

“Many thanks for your time the other day, we both really enjoyed the tuition and got a lot from it. I never thought that I would have been quite so fascinated with the principles of photography. I might be using the camera at home a little more too!“
Martin English, Homelink
“Many thanks again for a superb talk. It was considered, inspirational and gave us all much to think about in the construction of our landscape pictures. It was just the right mix of amazing shots and instructional lessons coupled with open discussion.“
Derek Knight, Wolds Photographic Society
“Excellent images, informative and interesting presentation – thoroughly enjoyed it. I was in need of a little inspiration to get me out with a camera again and Andrew’s talk was just the ticket.“
