Another early start, this time heading for the Amer Fort. Within minutes of leaving Jaipur, the Water Palace seemed to appear out of the morning mist, as if floating on the lake. Not wanting to miss the moment, I insisted that we interrupt our journey to the fort. This seemed to slightly throw my guide, who now needed to adjust his itinerary - the Jal Mahal was supposed to be for later in the day – “It’s the light that’s important!”, I exclaimed.
